New Member to Forum and to Face Painting - Yvonne from Portugal

Post by yvonnespinola on 11/18/2011, 5:03 am

Hello everybody! I am Yvonne and I am from Portugal.
About three years ago I came upon some videos from an Australian Artist and tried making a Tiger face paint with those cheap greasy paints for Halloween and some make-up... result was ok if you saw it from far - but I knew that compared to the video it was horrible! Now, years later I decided I wanted to set free my inner artistic side, so... I went online to UK websites, because Portugal is not big on Face Painting and outside of Europe shipping and Customs is way too expensive... anyway - Purchased a small Snazaroo kit and for the past Halloween made about 5 masks! I love it. So because I knew I needed some nice brushes and more paint - I splurged and my husband ok'ed it.... So I went and got myself some early Christmas presents Smile. Can't wait to get everything in the mail!
So, just want to say I am really VERY new to Face painting and even though you guys don't know me, you have already helped me decide on which products to get and given me some hints on how to do some face painting!! Smile
I love this Forum! I feel like I can't stop reading it!! I just want to soak up everybody's knowledge on this matter!
Thank you!
Note: If you know of any way I can learn strokes or techniques... please don't hesitate - email me!! I will be very happy to hear from you!

Yesterday I recieved some Face Paint supplies in the mail... I purchased the Tag palletes and brushes. A friend of mine gave me a Paradise Basic Colors Palette, some white Starblend cake (that I am still not sure how to use). I got some glitter. A couple of days ago I purchased a Klutz Face Paint book that had a Wolfe Pallete. And hoping to get some more goodies in the mail this week.
My first set of paint was from Snazaroo - a party pack - but now that I tried Mehron Paradise,Tag and Wolfe... I will never look at Snazaroo again!

Bem-vindo , Bienvenida! Welcome from a Spanish neighbor sunny !
Happy to see someone from this side of the ocean! You'll find this forum really helpful and people around here is soooo nice (and patient, not only with my questions but with my awful English Wink ).
For learning techniques and other tips you may go to the Home Page (see the top of this page) and click on the different sections there ("How'd you do that?","General Face Painting?",...). And I learned a lot from the Silly Farm Video Corner too, here's the link:http://www.sillyfarm.com/video_gallery/new_gallery/silly.php

Enjoy and have fun!!! cheers
