Re: which to invest in Rainbow cakes or arty cakes
I think you're right Tash, about using different brands in the cake. I stopped getting them because how they wear differently, same with the rainbow cakes (I believe these are both name brands from silly farm).
When you put Snaz next to wolfe in the same pot, the snaz is softer and will wear quicker.
I now stick to using the same brand in the cakes. Whether I make them myself or buy them. The consistancy on applying it to the brush and the face is much easier. (IMHO)

But I love the Large Cakes. My Winter fav right now is the Tag Snowflake in the Forum Shop. Perfect for wintery scenes. I also have the Girls Night Out one (Tag Pearls of pink, lilac, and purple) Great for butterflies and when girls cant pic between their favorite colors. (Pink? Purple? I cant decide)
P.s. My Avatar is the Snowflake cake.

Arty cakes = like saying kleenex. It's a specific brand product produced by Sillyfarm. One stroke cakes = like saying tissues. It's a more generic term.
I like the TAG one stroke cakes because they are made from a single brand, the container is rectangular, the colors are beautiful (I'm a pearl freak! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE them!) and there was a post on here done by suzy sparkles which proved that they provide the most bang for your buck.
That being said some of the ABC's on sillyfarm are beautiful, and you aren't 'blowing your money' or buying an inferrior product if you buy a few small cakes. It's a matter of personal preference.
With regard to the 'rainbow cakes' I also go exclusively tag 50 g. Although the sillyfarm combos are still beautiful, I like the square container over the circular THAT much more. A circle cake (for me at least) always wears unevenly.
