Using my new Silhouette Cameo diecutter

Post by Amanda on Sun Nov 20, 2011 10:19 pm

Just thought I'd share a photo of my Save the Dates that I'm cutting on my new Silhouette Cameo machine. It's working BEAUTIFULLY! I bought a bunch of vinyl with it also, so after I'm done with the STD cards and get those sent out, I'll start making some glitter tattoo stencils. I just need to find out what the best transfer tape will be to use. I'm super happy with the quality of the cutting on this... it does circles and points perfectly, unlike the Cricut. Smile It does pull a little in some areas, but I'm using a textured cardstock, so I expected it. No tearing issues though and the imperfections are so minor even I barely notice them. Smile

so after I'm done with the STD cards and get those sent out...

In Canada, "STD" stands for Sexually Transmitted Disease.
When I first read your post, I did not clue into SaveTheDate as STD.
I was aghast when I first thought that now, people with STD's have to have glitter tattoos to show the world. YIKES!

I will read more carefully in the future.

gorjessfaces, have been using (or rather my son has) an expression for the past month... it is rather loud...but so nice to order tatts from across the house...and have specifics for themed events!!

Wow, that looks awesome. I'm torn between a Silhouette or the Ecraft to replace my cricut. One day.

I LOVE my SILHOUETTE!!!

I use it for glitter tattoo stencils and Car Decals.

Super easy to use and is so precise.

LOL.... sorry for the confusion... got lazy with the typing. I won't make that mistake again... don't need people avoiding me thinking i'm contagious!

And I LOVE the Silhouette. I have a cricut at work and there's no way it would cut this design so cleanly. The main reason i bought the machine was because I knew I wanted to do my wedding invitations like this... all intricate die cuts for the details. I think it's unique. Smile GEtting to make my own glitter tat stencils is just a bonus. Smile

Apparently I got married in a previous era. What the heck is a save the date? Is it a new word for an invitation?

It's sortof a pre-invitation. You send them out about 6 months before the wedding, give or take, to bascily tell people, hey we're getting married and would like you to come... mark this on your calendar so you can plan ahead for it. It's especially good for out of towners so they can start planning their travel arrangements without it being last minute. Does that make sense?
