Bras - a foreign subject for me

Post by leapinglizards on Wed Nov 23, 2011 5:49 am

So- Have the possibility of doing a few body paint jobs, but these are for corporate clients. They want something artistic and sensual but not too exposed.... So, for the male and female models we are using microfiber low rise bikini style briefs. Something modest in the front, with full seat coverage. Lots of options there.... BUT

Is there something out there, thin, artificial fiber, not terribly padded for the female model's top?

Obviously I don't wear bras or go to Victoria's Secret- so appreciate the help. The model is not very busty, so more for coverage than support. Something like a bikini top I suppose. We want more than pasties, but not SO much that it looks like someone painted over grandmas bathing dress.... Make sense?

I think someone, Shannon maybe(?) had posted a link to something they used with bodypaint, but I could not find it.

Thanks!

I think most usually just use nipple covers?? I haven't done any body painting other than one belly, but I think they are like stick on disks that you can paint over.... but you might want something more than that too?

My models have worn nipple covers... 'cept for the latex body paint where we used one of those shaped bras for the cups and then cut off all the straps. So not what you are looking for.

Make sure to get a lyrca or lycra blend though.

Yeah, this is an odd gig. Want more coverage than nipple covers. I sew, so had considered just buying lycra and making the equal of an unlined string bikini top.

What I have seen in a lot of body paintings is a vikiny top, you can find them really small and they have straps you can paint on and hide easy.

Oooo, I like Perry's link! Good call to not interfere with the painting...but you could always paint it in, if they wanted!

I've seen some more modest body paints at convention where the model had black boy shorts & a small black tube top(just covering the breast area). Then incorporate the design to fade into black in those areas.

Thank you everyone for the various ideas! I think the tube top and shorts idea might end up being the best for these types of clients... but I thought some of the others were great.

Really appreciate it!

Just make sure they have the right sizes for the models you are using! Did a gig once where the client insisted on supplying the costuming, and got larges for extra small models. Needless to say, neither of us were happy.

The silicone stick-on bra is GREAT! it paints over so easily, and doesn't change the color of the paint like regular fabric does. And because it's nearly seamless, you can hardly tell it's there after painting- which actually makes it more modest because your attention isn't drawn to how much of the body is or isn't "covered." (I found mine at Beals Outlet for only $12! the brand is Lady Princess Intimates)
