Greetings from a newbie in East Tennessee!

Post by HappyCheeks on Sun Nov 27, 2011 11:10 pm

Hello "y'all".... okay, so I'm not "from" here.. I just live here - have been since 2001! We own our little piece of paradise in a sleepy little town called Spring City, in what's called the Bible Belt.

Originally from Montreal, Quebec - I'm fluent in French & English & have recently discovered this little gem of a hobby.. face painting! I've already spent too much money on products & my goal is really not to make a living (or even pocket change), from this hobby but to put big, ear to ear smiles on kids!

I live right between Knoxville & Chattanooga & my goal starting in January is to spend a day here & there at the children's hospital & try to bring joy to those little ones.

I'm looking forward to learning tips & tricks here on this forum. By the way, I'm a huge fan of Lisa Joy Young - her work has inspired me to keep at it - it's not that hard & the little ones don't look for perfection.. they're just so happy to have their faces painted... even if you go "out of the lines"... Welcome! glad to hear you love to paint not just for money but for the children at the end of the day thats what its all about! i love when you finish painting the childs face and they see themselves and just grin from ear to ear thats what makes all the hard work pay off! not to everyone but to me. thats why i do this, its like an escape if ive had a bad day first thhing i do is pull out my kit and let all my frustration go into my painting and boy ill tell you that is the best way for me to cope with anything thats going on in my life. im glad youve found painting and you love what you do. just keep up the hard work and practice like theres no tommorow and you will be just as good as lisa which is amazing by the way big fan myself! Well hope all goes well and enjoy painting! if you need anything please dont hesitate to ask there are some wonderful ppl here on the forum youve deff come to the right place!

Happy Painting,

Ashley!

Thank you Ashley! You're very sweet! I wish I was able to practice on my own face (I assume that's you as your avatar) but when you're my age (53), those darned reading glasses just get in the way of everything! My daughter was visiting a few weeks ago & she graciously allowed me to paint her face for hours! I'm glad I found this forum.. I'm sure it will be another source of inspiration!
