I have a mesh collapsible thing, I have two of them one for clean ones and one for dirty ones that I put a plastic zip lock bag in them. When the gig is over I take the bag w/ the dirty sponges, close it....DONE then I collapse the round mesh bowl like thing, it takes up no space. Love it.

I keep them in a large plastic bag at the bottom of my FatMax Smile The dirties and any dirty paper towels or wipes go in a medium size bucket that fits under the pulled out part of my FatMax.

I use two big bowls (almost like family popcorn size). They are bright green so go with all my colors. I have one setting on the table with my paints, and the other at my feet to drop the dirty ones in. I like it because the bowl, spongs and all can fit in a grocery store size plastic bag, and it attaches to the side of my kit for easy clean up. Down side is alot of clients think it is cantaloupe, and ask if they can have some. . .I guess that means my sponges don't look too bad! LOL Smile

I use one of those plastic organizer bins with the clip on lid. If it's going to be a windy day, I use another lid that I've cut a rectangle out of the top so that I can reach in and grab a sponge without the wind getting in my way. I have a collapsible box that hangs from the side of my tool box for my used sponges so I just toss them in either after the base is lain or once the child leaves my chair.

Metina, we have those snack cups for my youngest! When you described how you cut the lid, I immediately thought of them! Lol

Anyway I just keep my sponges in a bucket under my table, I have not had a problem with them blowing away or escaping.

For us heathens there is the ultimate sponge holder, available at Ikea, and I'm sure many framing stores. To explain, frames are shipped with an edge divider (many different sizes and widths, that when removed looks a lot like an divided tray....about the size of our sponges. Since they are now 'trash' they will give them to you. get the right size and set it up with clean sponges, cover it with a shower cap for traveling and you are all set. The wind has to be blowing pretty hard to blow the sponges out of the 'tracks' and your table looks neat. So for us heathens (I'm getting better about one per child) who use our sponges more then once, this is a possibility. I use mine a lot, just for neatness. I also use different types of sponges, so it's good for me to have them set up and easy to find. I have a little blue bucket that I throw my 'dirty' sponges and face wipes into and also dump my rinse water there.

LOL! I get asked why I have oranges with me...

I use a mesh bag with clean sponges, and have a container for dirties and rinse water.

I get asked if my small ones are cantaloupe too. Funny!

I use the teardrop shaped, color coded sponges (LOVE!!) so I'm a heathen. I actually store mine in the plastic large fruit holders from grocery stores- the ones that hold a lot of strawberries or blueberries. I just store my sponges tip up in those and use at will. The teardrop sponges are much neater looking so I don't mind that they are see through containers. Any of the other ones I use for different colors I simply put in my mesh wash bag on the back of my chair. The plastic container is vented, so the wind goes through instead of picking it up and the flip lid can snap closed when I need. We just finished eating enough strawberries and blueberries to have enough for all of my booths. lol

I hardly ever use sponges....I use brushes and I have a 3 hole water well , I bought at staples. (which is suppose to hold pens and pencils)...it is black and I dip in one then the next and the brush is clean by the 3rd dip....and I just bought a pencil holder with 3 little swing drawns under it...from walmart...thought that could be my 4th dip if I wanted and the drawers hold clips for hair, things like that...
