Has Anyone Ever Painted Animals for $
I work for a county Parks and Rec and we have all kinds of events for kids which I've started to face paint at. While looking over their scheduled events for 2012, I see a lot of events for the dog park...hmmmmm got me thinking...wonder if I could paint short haired dogs?
I've seen photos of people's pets they have painted themselves on the web....was just wondering if anyone had ever done it for pay. Would that be called PPP... Pay Per Pet?

I know of people who have.
Keep in mind that any make-up that has contact with the brush you apply the paint with will not be useable for humans after that.
I painted my sister's maltese with highlighter pens... and painted Little Dog with Snaz. She wasn't impressed.

I have spray white dogs with color hair spray and charge $1 (mostly tails in raibow colors) they get scared by the sound of the spray.

I tried doing my dog as spideydog for halloween. It took forever because he just would not sit still, he was too curious as to what was going on.

I have seen on the internet somewhere a dog painting stencil kit, where you just sponged on a stencil design.

my personal opinion is.... its a animal i dont think they like it at all... just let the dog be the dog. dont mean it in a bad way. but i also see those little doggies with all the outfits and bling gadgets... feel sorry for those little doggies....
Re: Has Anyone Ever Painted Animals for $
Here's my Chia-poodle...you can see how thrilled she is.

I coloured my sister's maltese with highlighter pens while she was sleeping on my lap...
If the animal's don't mind I don't see a problem with a star or heart thing.
Snaz has a page for animal painting here

Then there is this

That's so fun!!! lol. Love those elephants! Most of the pictures you see of animals with elaborately "painted" fur are photoshopped, but they do look cool! I think that poodle is awesome Shannon.
Re: Has Anyone Ever Painted Animals for $
Wow! Cool pics...thanks...love the tire tracks dog and the glow in the dark sheep...
I wouldn't make a pet get painted if they didn't want to, anymore than I would a kid...

Some pet salons will dye the dogs hair. It's kind of silly IMO. You also might need to know the laws. Do you need a dog groomers licence to paint them? My mom was a dog groomer. I lost all my Saturdays as a teen to bathing dogs
Re: Has Anyone Ever Painted Animals for $
I can't imagine that I'd need a license to paint a dog if I don't need one to paint a person. Laws are generally much more strict about applying things to humans than animals. Amazingly enough, Kansas is extremely liberal in their laws. They actually use common sense and make things as easy as possible...most of the time.
Re: Has Anyone Ever Painted Animals for $
OMG on the chia-poodle, dont think I've ever seen anything quite like it!
Re: Has Anyone Ever Painted Animals for $
To each there own. Yet, I would not use my paints on animals nor would I want my children to be painted with paints that are used on animals. I use one sponge per color per child, def. no double dipping. The spray color is a good alternative
.
Re: Has Anyone Ever Painted Animals for $
Animals do not like sprays. Stencils and a really loaded sponge work well.
Little Dog wasn't thrilled but she wasn't fighting me... just well, she was a toy poodle. nuff said.
We had a great groomer once who gave her great hair cuts. She had a rainbow mohawk one time... it was adorable.

Thanks Shannon...just a little design was all I had in mind...doubt if I'll be doing many fullface zombies folks
Think I'll make a dedicated rainbow cake and practice on my cat...don't worry, I'll wash it off before he does...no animals will be injured in this experiment...
