Pricing trouble

Post by TouchofArtFP on Mon Dec 05, 2011 8:04 pm

So i have been working the Christmas Village in downtown Philly and a few people have mentioned that my prices are to low, how much should I be charging for faces. I charge 4$ half face and $5 full face. I have not been facepainting long(since august 2011) but Im not bad at it either so Im really just unsure.Help me please!

I usually do $5 and $8 unless it was an expensive event to get into, then it's $5 and $10. Never less than $5 for anything

I have one price...and like Perry, depending on the event, it is either $8 per face, or $10 per face. If I offer two prices, the parents often force the kids to have the cheaper ones, but with one price they happily pay it.

I charge $5 a face.

If it's really slow then I'll offer $3 cheek art too.

Dollar a minute...$3.00, $5.00, $8.00...I would definitely have a bigger difference between the two so $5.00 and $8.00. I'll probably raise my rates this next summer and only offer the cheek stuff if pressed (like others suggested) or someone wants all their kids painted and give them a multiples deal.

After this last few parties (trying to fit too many kids again and my painting wasn't stellar) I'm changing my party pricing too. No party under 1.5 hours (2 hours for larger parties at least) and I'm doing 3 parts....base, linework & FUN STUFF! Dots, blossoms, swirls, highlights, etc.

Blah I hate cheek art!!! I need to work on it more! I charge 5.00 per face half or whole and it works out in the end

My pricing is the same as Denise. I think it's kindove a Utah standard. I do have a $10 face too. But those are usually just the complicated halloween faces.
