how to keep my maku-up..."kit" clean HELP??!!
hey you guys,
i'm attaching a picture of the rolling make-up case i use as a kit.
it's lined with black crushed velvet. sooo...i can never keep it clean!!!
i sprayed it with scotch guard when i first got it. but, every speck of dust or piece of lint lands on that black.
does anyone else have a crushed velvet lined kit?
and...how do you keep it clean??
THANKS!!
ttfn, rebecca

I went with tool boxes right from the start... empty them, stick 'em in the tub and hose them off!

I don't have velvet lined ANYTHING for that reason.
Some thoughts on cleaning it now:
- a few months ago my daughter spilled bright green glitter (a whole bag) onto the dining room chairs, floor, etc....the vaccuum cleaner could not get the upholstery clean! What worked was a lint roller; try to currently clean your kit with pieces of sticky lint paper
- once your kit is clean, consider lining some of the sections with plastic containers. you'll lose space but it might help to place your messy items (glitter especially!) into a separate container within your compartments
- another thought is to put your containers of glitter into something like this so that they stay separate: http://www.amazon.com/Slot-Jewelers-Storage-Watch-Organizer/dp/B000RB77U8/ref=sr_1_41?ie=UTF8&qid=1323459992&sr=8-41
Good Luck!

I think I feel a hot steamy shower coming on for my Fat Max this weekend. I have been using lysol wipes...it needs a good scrub, maybe with my ivory soap and a loofa!
Thanks Shannon.
Thanks Shannon.

I love the look of the velvet cases, but I love my Fatmax! I have had it rained in with an inch of painted water in the bottom! I've spilled water several times. My black and white paints are always spilling thru the sides before I get home to clean them! Don't get me started on how many times I've knocked my glitter over! Haha!
