Artist of the month
Hey guys, we are doing a new Artist of the month for our newsletters!! This month I chose Rae because she is so creative and I love her work! Here is the rest of her interview and I hope you enjoyed her step by step photos!
Take Care!

"Goodness, I can’t imagine anyone being interested in a little babble about me, but since I was asked …..Hi, my name is Raelene. I’m the owner and artist of Rae’s FX. I’ve only been in business a few months, but started painting earlier in the year. I promised myself this was going to be the year of change for me, and I’m happy to say it most certainly has been! I’ve accomplished so many firsts this year, and I’ve really stepped outside of my comfort zone. I left my job of twenty years at the end of last year and was in search of something completely different, fun, positive, challenging and if I could combine creativity in there somewhere too, that would be awesome. By chance I’ve managed to fulfill all those dreams with the discovery of face painting! WOW, I just love this world! This is exactly what my soul has been craving. I can’t believe I wasted twenty years in such a soul destroying environment that was my old job. Can’t change that now, just happily moving forward, repairing and feeling fabulous. My business is finally finding some legs and I’m super excited to be out and about, confronting my fears and spreading some joy along the way! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my journey in face painting so far and I have the discovery of Metina’s Forum and all of your inspiring talent, generous help, support and encouragement to thank for it. I never felt alone in trying to figure things out. In fact, I’m doubly lucky, because I get even more support and encouragement from all of my family, especially my hubby!! Don’t know what next year will bring, but I hope to continue having fun, growing and learning in this new fun creative world I’ve stumbled into.
I was asked to produce two new creative designs! (yikes) I targeted boy designs since I have half as many boys designs myself. One is an alien which I’ll be using in an upcoming gig (the mouth part is Wolfe brothers inspired), but I think maybe it could be simplified to become more workable and the other is a very workable design. Love one stroke! Hope you like."

Re: Artist of the month
Suzy, that's a very good choice.
And Rae is not just a very talented and creative painter, she is also very kind and has a great sense of humor. Look at these two designs above! Fantastic.
And I bet she is thinking 'no, that's not about me' when she reads this, but YES Rae this is you!

Great choice! Congratulations Rae; I love the diversity and imagination you show in your work, as well as the great linework and painting itself
