Washable Daubers

Post by tamarielpaints on Mon Dec 19, 2011 10:46 pm

[left] Awhile back I saw that TAG had machine washable daubers (as opposed to the wooden ones that cannot go into the washer/dryer between events.) But I haven't seen any listed anywhere online. Does anyone know where (or what company) makes them??

TAG had them on their Facebook page but not on their online shop. FantasyWorldwide has them listed but are "Out of Stock". Looks like a cylindrical sponge with some large shrink tubing around it. 3 sizes and double-ended. Those what you are talking about.

Michael's carries a Martha Stewart set that is probably similar to Martha's description. Sponges come out of a plastic cylinder, and you can use both ends if you want. I think it has 5 or 6 graduated sizes (I split a set with someone) for $4.99.

Look at Lady Jayde's post on "TAG daubers" in the Forum Shop section of the Forum. She has a pic of them. Like Tamariel I'd like to at least try them.

I have a set of them and I guard them with a shotgun since TAG discontinued them. I love them quite dearly and actually wanted more that one set, but the online store I got them from only had one set left. According to the owner, it wasn't cost effective so they discontinued. Just broke my heart!

Shannon mentioned on another post that you could cut your sponges as cylinders. My husband is an electrician and I've seen him use some shrink tubing on wiring before. Slip it on and heat it with a heat gun. Wonder what diameter he can get that stuff in. Question
