Pictures for my board

Post by Airyfairy on Tue Dec 20, 2011 1:19 pm

Am I missing any really important designs? I am going to add tiger stripes for the arm but not sure about anything else. Thanks for the help.

Personally, at least once per gig I'm asked to make a cheek/forhead/arm art snake (or a dragon depending, but usually a snake.) The full face snake is nice, but I find that more boys (and tons of teens) like the more cheek art version.

Also, I'd personally add a unicorn, some type of hearts design, and a rainbow butterfly. I would also consider changing one of your current butterflies to be a one eye version; I do variations of a design and your two butterflies are so close that one could technically stand in for the other.

I was also thinking the name art that you put on their arms,,lay down a block of colour..rainbow ,,two toned ,,decorate with swirls/flowers and name in the middle..just tribal it up for the boys..I have found these really popular also,,,
Smaller designs for boys,, I do lightning bolts around the eye..one eyed monster eye, even a bruised eye with slashes under to look like he's just been attacked.
Your cherries are cute,,,

I find like, Tamariel a snake is good and/or dinosaur and sharks seem quite popular. Although I always find kids have the most random requests, a little girl lat week insisted she wanted to be a camel, only a camel. I love kids!

Ditto on the snake, shark, Unicorn/w rainbow, one eye butter fly, rainbow butterfly. I would also say rainbow tiger , hello kitty and mario. I also have the green lantern which I do at least once an event, and if you offer your monster mask as a single eye, it will be popular too. Something with lots of hearts is a must, you might offer the star mask with hearts or stars in a variety of colors. That looks great!

snake, shark, unicorn... rainbow anything is the same as a regular anything so I don't think you need to have another picture of the same thing in a rainbow version. You've got the main bases covered... other than that, it's personal preference and what you find gets requested most for your area.

My one word of advice is to take a camera to all your gigs and replace all the shots of your practice head with shots of real people ASAP. I've found the dummy head creeps some kids out, and I also think adults feel more confident when they see something you've painted on a real person.
