One Stroke Madness

Post by flopsietheclown on Wed Dec 21, 2011 3:47 pm

We were discussing one stroke designs and I decided to haul out my stash. I especially love love love rainbows. I have them in ABC true, ABC neon, JP TAG Fruit salad (custom pearl rainbow), and TAG neon (not pictured). I hope Metina orders more TAG rainbow one strokes for her next order!!

I'm wondering if anyone else is one stroke obsessed like me? Do you also see a design and immediately go on a search to buy that particular cake? Do you see a new cake and buy it quickly before it goes out of stock? Do you ever crack it open and ask yourself, "What was I thinking??" Razz

I don't always know what to do with some but I find most of these beautiful one stroke cakes make great butterflies with a 3/4" brush. What do you love to use your one strokes for?

Well, here I am!!
I have a load of one stroke cakes, almost all colours available here!
But: some of them still unused. I just have to have them, even if I don't know when to use them...
I'll find a nice design one day, and then I'll just have the splitcake ready!!!

I love my splitcakes..and even made smaller (baby) splitcakes for smaller desgins and for faces..I usually feel the splitcakes are too wide to apply on the face, especially children's faces

I love split cakes too..i make eye designs, flowers, you can take a larger 1 inch brush and go down the arm and then do a design in just black..
etc.

I just recently discovered split cakes, and my collection is quickly growing!

I started off with a DFX (I think) berry cake, then a full-size neon rainbow cake (love it! How did I go so long without doing rainbow butterflies!?), and recently I bought the Peacock ABC (as seen in my avatar) and a Key Lime ABC.

Then just a couple of days ago I gave in and bought a ton of TAG pearl split cakes and one-strokes.

They're all so beautiful! I want them all! Crying or Very sad

Janna, I absolutly love your avatar picture. It is so pretty. I wonder what that design would be like with different colour combinations?

Thanks! I'll definitely try it out with some different colours when my new paints arrive! Wink

And it's such a simple design too! Basically just four swipes with the split, then some details and dots in black and white.

I really have more one strokes than I need... My first one was that Tag fantasy which I am still trying to figure out stuff to do with. I have the pallette insert filled. I use about half of them. but some I don't know what I was thinking at the time. but I see some of yours that are on my to get list!
I am aiming for a pallette of ones, I use often.

and I miss the Tag true rainbow. have't seen it in a while. That is my most used one stroke cake followed by rose.

no ordering face paint till after january for me though Sad

Flopsy, I would love to see some of the butterflies that you do with those, could you post some photos and tell which split cakes you used?

p.s. I think I'm addicted to split cakes!

Maggie, here is most of stash. I was cleaning out my festival and birthday party kits trying to do an inventory. There are still a few missing like my beloved Wolfe skin tone palette and my all of my liquid bling. I'd love to see yours all laid out! LoL I need to have a practice kit like Tamara's.

It's a Kryolan aluminum case. It has a mirror and slots for brushes but I only use it for storage. It's bulky and does not lay flat like the other laptop style cases do. AND if it had a handle to carry, I may have tried to use it more. It does have a latch that works perfectly, better than any laptop for sure.
