One stroke practise sheets?

Post by Beans on Thu Dec 22, 2011 4:36 am

Can anyone recommend the use of Donna Dewberry's One stroke practise sheets? I'm wondering whether or not to invest in some but they don't seem to be readily available in Australia.

If you have a DVD with a slip sleeve you can take the advert out, flip it around to the white side and slip it back in, then, open the case and use the whole area as a practice surface.

I just tried this the other night when I was too lazy to get up from where I was seated and voila! A wipe-able practice surface! Smile

I have had them and they are the same as my regular old tracing paper.

Here is my stack of practice stuff and it all works very well....

I bought a set only because they were in the clearance section at Michael's, I think I paid $3 or 4. I would never have paid full price for them and kind of regret spending even that much - I have had them for a couple months and have not tried them out yet.

Here's a link to a lady who has posted scans of some of the Folk Art ones on her blog. http://onestrokeart.blogspot.com/

Edited: I'm not sure if I'm talking about the same thing... the things I bought are printed sheets like the ones on the blog, and they are in a clear plastic sleeve so you paint over the picture.

Seems like you could photocopy some of the practice pages from some of the one-stroke books and then slip them in sheet protectors if you wanted.

Have you tried was paper? It's a great way to practice your one strokes and they dry perfectly for reference. So, you could keep them in a binder if you want. I use a face line drawing I found on line (that prints on an 8 1/2 x 11 and set the one copy under the wax sheet so to have a reference for placement. Otherwise, just practice on a plain piece Very Happy
