Hurt My Wrist

Post by clowngirl on Sat Dec 24, 2011 8:24 am

Hello everyone. While I was twisting yesterday, I noticed a painful lump which looked like it was made up of a bunch of veins had formed on my wrist. The lump has gone down and is now a painful bruise. Has anyone experienced anything like this and does anyone think it's cause for concern? Thankyou and Merry Christmas!

if it happens again, I would get it checked out... otherwise, I tend to chalk that kind of thing up to the typical weird crap that happens to me. My suggestion would be to ice it, it generally helps with soreness from overexertion.

My wrists are usually sore after an extra long gig of 4 or more hours.... the outside of my wrists, on the side at the spot where it bends usually.

Thanks Perry, yeah it was to that side of my wrist. The bruise was still there this morning but now I can barely see it. I did put some ice on it for a little while, maybe that did the trick.

Used to work for an orthopaedic surgeon. Ice first 24 to 48 hours then heat and rehab until no longer painful (which could be weeks). Some of the athletes prep prior to with anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen or naproxen sodium if you can tolerate them on your stomach.

Thanks Martha, I'll keep that all in mind! Thankfully it feels fine now but I do anticipate further problems so the tablets might be a good idea
