Winterfair pic heavy!!

Post by Maaike on Tue Dec 27, 2011 4:10 pm

This is what I did yesterday and today,. Together with 6 other artists. It was for a Winterfair with a fantasy, a Dickens and a Bethlehem scene at the open air museum. It was a blast! We worked our .... off because there were zo many people who needed tot be painted!

the Dickens characters and wiches are made with grease-paint. Do you call it like that? Not water based. Both the wiches with the green wig is the same person, on different days. Different artists also!

We all did everything; not one person only dickens characters, or one person only ice-queens. We all did a mix so it was taking time to switch and go! Hurry hurry!

It is so amazing, great atmosphere. THis was the third year they did this and I'm painting also fo the third time.

The aging is one of my favourite techniques and I'm quit good ad it ahum!

One lady was NOT happy with her paint. She was one of the desert people, not so clean, and she wanted to be beautifull with glitter and swirls. We actually refused and explained to her what her character should look like. Hey; WE were the prefessionals!
And then she took one of my brushes and wanted to paint herself! I told her definately NOT touch my stuff. I wass pissed off!
The second day we didn't see het in our paint-room but we saw her in the setting. Looking bright and shiny in a dirty-like tent. haha! she looked like crap!
