Super Mario Bros - Quick, fun, clever designs... Please help me

Post by Shelley_shell on Fri Dec 30, 2011 6:08 pm

Hi all

I have a kids face painting party in late January and the theme is Super Mario Bros... Apart from playing the game, I really have not had much to do with Super Mario.

Does anyone have any cool creations they would like to share, to give me some inspiration?

Thanks Guys Smile

I'll also have a go and post the end result... but any quick, clever and fun designs would be excellent! Smile

Melody, those Mario & Luigi faces you posted the links to are by Mandi Alexander, she entered them in to a FPForum challenge! Here's the link to the newsletter with the step-by-step instructions:

They are among the most popular of the boy designs that I do!! Everyone loves them - and lots of girls get them too!

Thankyou Isabelle for remembering that those two Mario & Luigi were mine from a challenge here. mmmmm I don't remember posting them on facepaintingtips though.

Mandi, I just did a quick search over there and found them... they were posted with full credit given to you and with a link to the FPF challenge.

Thanks Isabelle, I appreciate your help. Sadly the pics aren't watermarked though. So it's too easy for anyone to lift them off that site & use them as their own work. As we know happens as there haven been many threads on that here on our forum. I certainly don't have a problem with anyone using my designs as inspiration & painting their own take on the design. However I'd rather my son's pic wasn't posted on another site without my knowlede/permission.

If the pics were watermarked I wouldn't have a problem, & I do appreciate that she gave me full written credit. I have tried very hard to watermark all my designs, however she must have saved these to file before I had started doing that. It's because of the threads on this forum that I have learnt about other people having problems of their photo's being used without their knowledge/permission (honestly I never thought it would happen to me). As I have also learnt from here how to watermark. So it's all in a learning process that I'm understanding & learning along the way as we all are.

Love the Mario. Mandi why didn't you just ask Facepaintingtips to give you credit on your work. I think its cool that they thought your work was good enough to add to their site. And it seems like Wina was a good sport about. So why not let her keep the photo?

@ Melody yes she did.

@ Nicole - Wina had mentioned that I had painted it, however it was the pic that wasn't watermarked which was the problem. Anyone could just right click & save/print & use the pic as there own with no ownership actually on the pic itself. It is my son in the pic & as a mum I don't want him turning up on other painters boards nor do I want my Mario design portrayed as being someone elses work.

Like you pointed out in your post above (Someone did a cute Mario and Luigi here... http://www.facepaintingtips.com/forum/download/file.php?id=328&sid=f0d7d0e90ac1badceef77cd22c4e74cb ) which is my son/design with no ownership on the actual photo. I know my bad, but I have desperately tried to watermark all my designs/pics and only because I learnt how to on this wonderful forum. As you can see my avatar of the Mario is watermarked, the other pic must have been copied & saved before I'd learnt how to watermark, so I'm hoping any copies that pop up without a watermark are respectfully removed. As you can see if you click on the second link you gave the attachment doesn't exist anymore, cause Wina kindly removed it.
The whole idea was to be an inspiration to others so that they could paint their own version of it. As you have done yourself & a fabulous job too!!!
