Business Name Contemplation!

Post by Mika's Creations on Mon Jan 09, 2012 7:41 am

Hey Everyone!

I feel comfortable enough with my designs so much to the point where I've decided to apply for a business license. However I'm stuck when it comes to finally deciding on a name.

At fist I was thinking Fun & Fabulous Facepainting. However, I realized that there are so many other arts and crafts and talents in general that I have. You never know when i might decide to make a business out of them too. Also I do plan to do body art (prenatal bellies, glitter tattoos, etc. ) so it would not be wise to limit my business name to just face painting.

Anyways here are the other names I came up with: Fun & Fabulous Entertainment, Fun & Fabulous Creationz, and finally Mika's Creationz.

I'm really liking the last two. flower

What do you guys think?

Whatever you choose, if Mika is the name most call you, put it in there somewhere. Once your business grows big, others may try to steal your business by mixing up your business name to get theirs. It's much easier to distinguish if your actual name is in your business name. Also, clients are more likely to remember personal names faster than business names. Even if your site does not have high ranking a person can search your name, face painter, and city to find you. Not even my family remembers my business name, but if you type in MeeMee (which everyone calls me) and my city or nearby cities, my facebook or web site comes up.
For some reason fabulous creations doesn't make me think entertainer. Mika's (Magikal or Marvelous or magnificent ) Arts and Entertainment? I like magikal best.

Thanx Guys. I was thinking Mika's Creationz (I like the z at the end.) I didn't want the name to sound to pushy or over confident with an adjective like FABULOUS or anything. Neutral

I think Magikal works, Mika's Magikal Creationz... It makes it more appealing to kids, but your business name is totally up to you, it took me ages to come up with mine!

I'd definately use your name as other's have said. However, I wouldn't use any improper spelling of words. I have tried to look up businesses in the past and could not find them because they used odd spelling. I then went with another business that I could look up because they used proper spelling. I'd hate for you to miss business, because spelling made it hard to find your info.

I use my Debra Newman Art as my business name because I do many different things. This name will cover anything I ever want to do!

NoOOO! not the "Z" please! Have to agree with Debra.

Mika's Magic is generic enough and memorable enough and easy to spell and has your name in it. So on the sign you would have Mika's Magic with "Face Painting & Balloons" (or whatever you do...body art, etc.) and then a catch phrase would be "Let Mika do her magic at your next event."

So I revived this topic since it has to do with my business name. So I decided to go with Mika's Creations, LLC. It took me a while but I decided to spell creations properly Surprised . I don't want to lose customers over a "z".

I'm working on a tagline. I'm thinking something that has to do with quality work. I was thinking... Mika's Creations,LLC Fun creations of quality start here! Embarassed

Words in mind: creations, fun, quality, art, artistic, ...UGHHH! I'm lost!

I just want to third - very happy you used the correct spelling! It's gonna save you trouble and having to always spell it out for people. I put my middle initial in my design portfolio domain name and now I kinda regret it since it gets missed. A little different there but yeah, I really HATE when words are misspelled or "cutesy".

How about "Quality and Fun all in One" (ok so that's a little cutesy but it's a fun business anyway...) Laughing

Good Luck!
