Re: Newbie from Australia
Had another go at a tiger today, this is how it turned out:

I didn't like how old and haggard my first one turned out & am glad this one isn't so aged-looking...but am still not happy with the above eye area/forehead
- haven't yet found a way that works for me. Am open to constructive criticism if anyone has time!
(The base paint is the TAG Foxy base blender...the metallicness (is that a word? LOL) doesn't really show in my pics)

I agree - you're clearly a natural! I'm another newbie (and also from Aus!) and am really inspired by your pics. You've made me want to go and try a little one-stroke butterfly now!

I love your work! Especially the first butterfly!
I think the tigers look great, maybe try angling the white above the eye more... Make it more fierce looking? It took me a while to perfect my tiger, there's a thread on here somewhere about it...

I've been reading all the old tiger threads I could find, including yours I think. So many different ways people go about painting a tiger, seems like everyone has their own particular preferences on things like white placement, eyes, dots, chins etc etc.
Anyway I had another go this morning (after lots of reading):

...I'm liking the eye/forehead area better than my last attempt, not sure about the muzzle. Tried leaving the chin unpainted...I notice a lot of people seem to leave that area blank because kids smudge it & then it makes the whole face look 'ruined' - so true! When my 4yo has had his face professionally painted as a tiger the chin seems to get smudged up as soon as he even thinks about eating! I'd welcome feedback - what do you think? better? worse? Feel free to be brutally honest!

Better and better! Just take it and make it your own. You have a lot of natural talent...just need practice and confidence!
