I need inspiration for an eye design!

My daughters cheer team wants me to paint them for competition. I have come up with a few that I will post later, but my problem is coming up with something that is both quick, yet has enough impact to be seen from the bleachers. the basic swirls and curls show up nice up close, but get lost at a distance. They want a one eye design. The song they are using for competition is Rockin Robin....I thought about a big piano keyboard, but the details might be too much for the time I have. (less that an hour to paint 20 girls) The colors are black and red, so no actual robins either. I did a sample where I painted the side of the face in red and blended black and white into it that looked kinda cool, but I need some other ideas.....can anyone help?

No Mascot...It is a competitive cheer team. I found some cool ideas on the link though....and I love the wings....good to go with the robin theme....TY

I do a design w/ a rainbowcake & music notes running across it. I don't have the picture in my computer anymore(arrrggg).

It's quick & effective, but I'm not sure if it would show up... You could make a rainbowcake of the team colors special for the event.

well from what I understand about cheer competition..you can't use glitter or they will not let you on the floor..just from coaching 10 years back in Tx...so you would have to use just red and white paint..thats just in our area of tx..and i live in wisconsin now and they won't let them use glitter here for the dance team competitions either...so you may want to ask the coach for the rules on glitter...i love the idea on the music notes also..
