I don't know the name of the blacklight. It is about two feet long though, I found it at Wal Mart of all places, after looking in lots of other stores.
It works well for how I am using it.
It has a way to mount it to a wall, but right now I just have it in our half bath and prop it up on the sink, then take my pictures. I think the small space helps concentrate the light.

I will try doing white on top of the neon. Guess I just need to play with it more.
Your designs look great!

When taking pictures in blacklight, make sure you have the flash off. To hold the camera steady and minimize blurriness, I tuck my elbows in against my body and hold my breath when I press the camera button.
I also depress the button slightly to help the camera focus, then press it to take the actual pic.

I love your first photo, I've never taken photos in blacklight but my ideas would be to use a tripod, or a table or something to rest the camera on. No matter how hard you try not to, you will move while you're taking the photograph! Haha

For blacklight photography, you need to use a longer exposure time. That means using a tripod and setting the shutter to stay open for at least 1/8 of a second. That's how all the home haunters with amazing blacklight shots do it, anyway.
