Digital Photo Frame instead of display board?

Has anyone ever used one of those digital photo frames at their booth?

I thought it would be good for kids standing in line, give them something to do while waiting. You can put a ton of photos on it and it just goes through them like a slide show. I think I would still use a display board though.

I saw a 7" one on sale for $20.00 at Family Dollar, almost grabbed it. Any thoughts?

Oh, I just had another idea! You could take a photo of your tip jar, full of tips of course and edit the photo to say "Tips Make Me Smile" or something like that, and then when the slide show is going, that would be one of the pictures it would show and maybe you could get more tips!

(Of course, not for events like a birthday party though)

You could also scan in your business card....

I think that's kind of a cool idea. Much more compact than a menu board that's for sure. If you edited in a name on each photo (princess, dalmation, etc), they can still tell you which one they would like.

OH GOSH. I SOOO would NOT do it. I could just see it getting stolen. Or dropped. Or being fought over with a busy line.
As a way just to show off work, yes, with a 'no touchy' sign. As a display board. NO WAY.
Maybe I'm just a clumsy mom with clumsy kids. But both me and DH have dropped his 300 dollar tablet.

I've used this idea at a wedding when I was first getting going. I felt very snazzy. It worked ok as a display back then- because I took a little longer to paint, had fewer designs to offer,and it was a small crowd. So the kids in line had a chance to see them all through. The bad part about it was that when it was their turn they insisted on waiting till the face they wanted showed up in the slideshow so I would "know" which one they wanted. (that always kills me- how could I possibly know what a puppy looks like unless you point to it?)

It would be a snazzy addition to a festival booth to showcase your other services- Bellies, bodies, Neon, Girls night out- the sort of things that people don't normally think about and aren't on your display board. That is only IF you don't mind people messing with it - and potentially breaking it. I don't think it would be worth the headache trying to keep them from picking it up.

Oh I would have it hung up and secured, not available for little hands (or big sticky hands, for that matter). The only thing I would worry about was rain.

I used to have one but it malfunctioned all the time, and ran out of battery so fast! So I think it would be impractical... I definitely wouldn't use it as a display board for the reason Sophie mentioned about waiting to see the photo...
Perhaps hung up to showcase other work, prenatal, night club type things...

It's a lot of money for something that could get broken so easily...

I used to use a digital frame. I had examples of my work with short 'at work' vids and adverts all in there. I use my iPad now like Livethedream, but where is this 'table clamp'??? I could use that!!

I love the speakers idea and the snake clamp info. What type of music do you have on hand? My musical tastes are probably not going to be good for everyone.

I don't think it would be good instead of a menu board, because the kids will see something they like and then get distracted by something else and forget what they wanted until it comes back up again. Sounds like a recipe for a mess.

I just picked one up on sale for under $20 to use in addition to my menu . Haven't got it out of the box yet. I like the tip pic. idea
