Party Packages

Post by BekahCat on Sat Jan 14, 2012 5:13 pm

I've been considering adding party packages to what I offer. For instance a Princesses and Pirates Package (Yes, I know it's done a lot but not where I live) in which there would be an hour of face painting, and an hour of games etc. All of the children would get a tiara and a bag of princess related sweets, or an eyepatch and bag of chocolate coins, the birthday child would get something extra like a pirate hat or a wand... Something like that...

Anyhow, I have a dilemma, I run this business alone so if I was offering entertainment for a party, what would the other children do during the hour of painting when they're not being painted?

Any thoughts?

You could take cheap colouring books and crayons (Oriental trading.com has some fun ones, or just from the dollar store) for them to use while they're waiting, and then they get to take them home when they go... but often the parents will have other things for them to do during a party while the face painting is going on.

same as when you do any other face painting party... they play with each other. My party packages are listed on my site from highest price to lowest price (on purpose) Deluxe (1/2 hr songs/games, 1/2 hr face painting, 1/2 hr balloon twisting - up to 12 kids one price, 13 to 20 kids another price because the balloons and face painting take longer); Basic (1/2 hr songs/games, 1/2 hr either face painting OR balloon twisting - same type of pricing); Super Bargain (1/2 hr face painting, 1/2 hr balloon twisting - same type of pricing) ... I know that I can handle up to 12 kids face painting in 1/2 an hour and if they are really fussy and take longer than they should, then they get simpler balloons to make up the time. When it goes up to 20 kids, the Deluxe often goes to about 2 hrs instead of 1.5... I didn't used to list the times, just the services and the pricing, but people like to know how much time they are getting for their money. So my website now has approximate times with each package and I just assure them that I won't leave until the agreed upon number of kids have had a turn.

Some kids like to watch while you are twisting and painting, others will run off and play. Parties that don't have entertainers at all just leave the kids to run and play.... that part isn't your responsibility.
