Tulip Face and Body paint

Post by JUST on Sun Jan 15, 2012 1:07 pm

Went to Hobby Lobby and found a display with Tulip body art stuff I was a little upset thinking this is not going to be very good for our business . I'm hoping we don't get less booking for Birthday parties because mom thinks she can do the painting herself .... Please let me know if you used them and what you think of them ..... Sad Thank You Denise Just of

Try typing "tulip" into the search box in the top right (right under the shop banner) You will be reading for hours.

Made a whole beautiful rainbow cake with clearance Tulip...it stained so bad I could never use it in my business. I do have the black for my practice head because it doesn't stain and the silver is great and the white is okay for emergencies.

Nope. Buying some face paints doesn't automatically give you the skill to use them.

I had a lady from our local council say "that looks easy" she proceeded to buy some paint and was really dishearten on her first spideyman,,,She ended up hiring me for their Christmas party. It is not as easy as it looks and us passionate people have had the tenacity to practise practise practise ..Dont worry,, Have the tenacity and the passion and no one can beat that.

I had that fear too, as a Michael's is opening soon in my town. I was really excited to finally have such a great source of crafty stuff, but also worried that they will probably carry face paints. People in my city are very cheap, and 80% of "face painters" here are volunteers, so it's hard to convince people to pay for face painting, aside from festivals.

I'm trying to reassure myself by reading the other posts about how staining Tulip is, so I'm sure some people will use them once then realize that they aren't great. We'll see what happens... I'm just hoping people will realize that professional face painting looks better, and definitely doesn't stain like that.

Just make sure your work has a wow factor and people will eventually realise that they have no hope! Haha

I think both Joann's and Michaels have discontinued it...at least here in my city. Until Tulip finds a better supplier it's not really an option. They made a good marketing effort...just not a good product to back it up.

It's still in the Michael's in Little Rock but not in JoAnn's. Haven't tried anything but Tulip silver but heard that everything but black, white, and silver stain badly! Seriously though, if you put in the hours learning and practicing, how could you NOT be better than someone who JUST buys the paint and tries to use it. Might as well let the kids paint themselves! I'm more ticked at the "pros" using craft paint and sharpies!

Ok I picked up the tulip body art round brushes they come in a pack of 4 I paid $7.99 for them nice looking Brushes but I must say they are the worst brushes I have ever used ..... They don't hold the paint in the brush .... The brushes are very much like fabric brushes or maybe not .. Please let me know if anyone has tried them ... Smile
