The Tulip brushes are not good at all. I got them for some volunteers, and I really sort of felt bad that I got them they were so bad. The body glue is so-so, but the aplicator is good, you can refill it with better glue and it lasts. The glitter is Ok. I got all the Tulip neon glitters on cleance for $5.99...that was worth it, and I would snap up the silver, the yellow, and the light purple paint all day long if I found it, but the rest, nope. I always look when I am in the store, just to see if they have any, and what they have, to keep track of what the general public might be getting.

Can you put pros aid on top of what ever glue is in the applicator or do you have to clear it out?

the items have been on clearance for a while now. It doesn't have any impact on my business. I practice and study a lot so I am not worried Smile

Our Micheal's has Snaz and Tulip and since Micheal's is just down the street, I'm always there and It seems to me that the racks are always full. unless its Halloween. I think ppl might try it once but thats it. Unless they fall in love with it. since I was one of those I can do it myselfers lol And i did my first gig with Snaz kit from Micheal's. lol But did lost of research and became obsessed with the world of face painting and now i know better. And if your passionate and practice it shows and people will pay for that or they don't deserve you. Wink

The teal and the purple tulip are JUNK. Just now seeing this thread or I would have known better. Just wrote a letter to Michael's and Plaid suggesting that they remove MOST of the colors from stock.

They don't just stain, they stain BADLY. I've scrubbed permanent markers off my grand daughters easier than this stuff! jeez o pete's. . . . what a waste.

The whole Tulip face paint phenomena fizzled out as quickly as it started here. They are not even bothering to restock the stuff.

Totally, it's rubbish - I had a client try to force me to use it at a gig in hong Kong. Quick demo of the difference in results (and the 'results of wiping it off) and I was 'donated' the tulip for my toddler to paint paper with.

In the UK Snazaroo now sell in most toy shops, fancy dress and supermarkets. At least its a good, safe paint. (Also some rubbish brands but hey 'it's cheap' say some...and turn up 3 days after haloween still stained green).

But as said before -they can buy it but they still won't necessarily be able to use it well.

Smurfs (just blue), all-white-ghosts etc aside, most mums / adults don't have the skills and many know it. Plus I don't even have time to paint at my own kid's party and I'm good/ fast/ PAINT FACES EVERY DAY.

Not a huge effect on us:)

Tulip is what started my whole face painting obsession. But After practicing with all the colors i could not do one gig until i bought better paints. all colors stain besids black and white. And the white is so AWFUL.. I loved it at first but when i got to the bottom it got DEWY.. it looked like the marshmellow creme. it is so awful. Im sticking to Dfx..

Just found that Walmart is carrying a new brand, I could not see the name on the box as the girl was unpacking at the restaurant where I do balloons. What a mess, looked like the kids had been painted a week ago with a crayola marker and it was just fading out. She said they had large kits of 24 and 12 colors, but that it said not to use by eyes.
My problem is not the competition as such, but the fact that when people use this on children the parents of the children often THINK their child has problems with face paint products or just decide they NEVER want their child painted again. It is destructive to the industry and art form, a reason we when working much keeping informing parents!.
