I'm trying to use them a lot more so I did this tiger face today, so much nicer with the stencils. This is inspired by Becstar, it was so pretty in person!

(oh, and I am working on my freehand glitter tattoos, turned out really pretty I think).

Four dollar is not pricey for stencils. If fact based on costs it's very cheap.
A good face and body art stencil can run as much as $25 - 30.

Check our Showoffs QuickEZ many times these $4 are offered buy 4 get one free. They have some at $1.50 right now.

Do you all feel that BAMS are better, not as good, or the same as other stencils?

Wow Maaike, I like the way you used it. Gives a 'kant' effect.
Lorrin, like also the way you gave texture to your tiger. Likies!!

I own easy a thousand plus stencils. I cut most all my own stencils on a very top of the line plotter, and I buy stencils too.

Stencils are stencils. Some are made of made up items you find and use, some are thin and some are thick. I my experience what type one uses, is if of course a personal choice. Aside from 3 mil vinyl stencils are 5, 6, 7 or 10 mil, the latter two making up a good deal of the airbrush / face painters stencils.

Temptu, Bad A**, Vargas, Party Faces, Showoffs QuickEZ (and mine) all are in the 6-7 mil range. Trendy Tribals and Eurpopean Body are 10 mil.
All will work for face painting. Some of these brand stencils are cut at the same factory, some cut their own. These are all equally good in quality.

So it comes to designs buy what you like. All the above mentioned have equally good designs. So what will you use?

Like any product I recommend shopping around and trying out a few. So you can decide what brand feels right in your hands. Or like many of us pros you'll use many brands.

Anyone who says one is better than the other does not have one of every kind in their kit. I do.

I will have one of all the above brands and some others in my classes at FPBAC. This is a great place to see everything and use it too. Jams too.

Sweet Loretta thank you for a very informative answer! I am looking at the quickEZ right now. There are so many options for stencils and so many brands, styles, etc... it's hard to choose!!!

I bought a few of these to try and then ordered a few more. I love them.
They add depth and detail so quickly. I agree that the smaller ones are much easier to use on a face *(not sure if they are bam or bad A$$)
I use the paisley one all the time, I like the cheetah one for a quick detail when I am doing any cat face. I also have a snake textured one I use for monsters, snakes, dragons... The trick is to lay down a base color first and let it dry then stencil over in a different color making sure the sponge is not too wet. I also have the cog stencil for steampunk or robots. They are very fun!
