It was surprisingly easier than the butterfly! I didn't even ATTEMPT the eye liner, though! What shocked me most was that the base turned out so well. I couldn't feel if I was laying down any color at all. And the funny thing is, this tiger looks at LEAST 10X better than my first few tigers!

Know what you mean Diane about the base. I kept dabbing and dabbing. I reversed my order as well. Usually put down the white first then blend in but one the "no mirror" figured it would be a safer bet to put the white down last so I could feel where it was when I started my black lines. Didn't help much though. lol!

The colors look really good Martha. The cake is wearing pretty evenly too because I use the yellow a lot to fill in the middle and the orange a lot to round out the face. I'm glad you tried it. I thought my base would be more splotchy too but it worked out well. I used the pearl white for my white.

I painted for Emma's photo class yesterday. I did a tiger on a teen boy that had red hair. I used a combo of the copper/gold & the orange yellow and he looked really good. When it came to the white, because his skin was so light, the pearl wasn't working so I used a combo of wolfe metallic white and white that I had as a "skull" cake and I really liked it. It was opaque yet shiny enough to go with the other pearls in the design. So I may make a pearl white/white split next paint order. I think I would use it a lot in eye designs like Christina Davidson uses Snaz white.

I'm excited to show you guys the pictures when I get them.

D.

Oooh, good idea! I have Snaz white, Tag white, Paradise white, DFX white, and DFX metallic white. Would love to get another shiny white but am still debating brand. Funny how they all have their "best" uses.

Redstar...your symmetry is really good....mine stunk. I can see you had nose trouble like I did...that's the hardest part IMHO.

PUNKY! Glad to see you. Please join us in the silliness.

lol, yeah, I thought I had the nose. I chickened out on the teeth though and the purple ended up over everything. Oh well, I had fun, and it was surprising to see how much different it looked like to what it felt like while I was painting it. Smile
