Am I the only one?
that is a complete and utter moron?
Monday night/Tuesday morning my daughter wakes up puking. She's 10. So I grab the puke bucket and a washcloth, go to get the thermometer by climbing over our bed and I miss the bed! I was half asleep hands full, so I basically face planted myself into the carpet. I gave myself whiplash, carpet burn and a black eye. I thought for a moment I knocked out a tooth. I am SO talented. Geez!
My nose looks like raw hamburger and is oozing, my mouth is raw hamburger.

Gosh, what rotten luck. I'm sorry this happened to you and I hope you and your daughter are okay.

That late night puking will get ya every time. 4 years ago, same scenario. I wake to the sound of hurling -jump up to get what he needed, forgot something and turned around quickly.. misjudged where the dog was sleeping and tripped over her. I hit the closet door knob on the way down, knocked myself out, fractured my jaw and woke up in the ER with a lovely hole in my smile. lol
No Ma'am. You are most certainly not the only one that can be clumsy.
Hope the wounds heal quickly and Little Bits yuckies are short lived.

Re: Am I the only one?
I fall down all the time, hubby gets thoroughly disgusted with me. I was heading out the back door we have a ramp for the old dog and I had two buckets of feed about 10lbs in each bucket hit the frosted ramp ski'd down it hit the dirt when face first into the ground smashing my delicate lady bit on a bucket and turning my pinky in the wrong direction, dumping both buckets and brusing both knees, while the herd of dogs are milling around me wanting to know why I'm on the ground...it never pays to rush EVER! so no you are not the only one with issues...
Re: Am I the only one?
Maybe it's because I'm young... but I have impeccable balance. I've only fallen once in my life, and it was when I was trying to learn to skate as a kid. I think it's a combination of playing DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) and being used to really icy wintery conditions.
Anyway... it's really crummy that you hurt yourself! Feel better soon!

Perfectly Painted Faces....you have just been voted off the island..the tribe has spoken
I have broken so many bones in my body that my drivers license is an xray... Two days ago, I was leaping like a gazelle out of my van (ok more of a thundering herd of hippos) but anyhow..totally forgot about the ice under the puddles and whoomph! down i went on my painting arm and under my car. Doc sent me for xrays, thankfully the elbow isn't broken, just soft tissue injury and bruising...but I do swear that I broke my bum...boy is it tender. Glade to know I am not the only one dancing my way to oblivion!

Re: Am I the only one?
I kinda have to agree with Gamezgirl Perfectly Painted Faces, you are GONE!
And for me, youth has NEVER helped. I have been this way since day one. My mom always said there was a reason my middle name wasn't Grace.
I am better today, the swelling has gone down a lot, my eye is a light purple green and yellow and my nose, after I debrided the dead skin from around it is looking better, still hurts like the dickens but looks better. I'm just hoping that my teeth don't turn brown.

Re: Am I the only one?
Yeah that is not going to happen. My husband has a job that if it was even implied that there were domestic battery charges he would lose his job. That is why I haven't posted them on FB
Re: Am I the only one?
Just imagine Shannon's latex burn pic's from her website on my nose, chin and not so badly on my eye. My lip swelling is down and it's not as purple.
Re: Am I the only one?
Ugh...yeah...can't take chances with that I guess....sad state of affairs in society these days. You know...when I went thru triage at the hospital for falling on my arm the other day, they asked all the normal questions, and then they asked me if I feel safe at home....I wonder now if they didn't believe me that I fell?? Hmmm....
