@ uni a few years ago it came to the attention of my new friends that I was chocolate & lolly addict (still am!) and they started calling me lolly (everyone I know now calls me it!!).
Jean is my middle name (Laura Jean) which is my Mothers middle name (Raewyn Jean) which is her Mums middle name (Beryl Jean - my nana) - Jean was my Nana's Auntys' name so thats where it originally came from & then I passed it down to my daughter (Sophie Jean)...so hopefully my daughter will pass it to her eldest daughter (not for many many years yet!!!) and keep going this family tradition.

Lolly + Jean = Lollyjean

Hi Lollyjean

I love your story and your name. In my family the first son has the second name Alexander, named after my Grandfather. There are 9 Alexanders and counting.

My name, Gisrus, is an amalgamation of my first name and surname. It was my husband's idea, but I really don't feel connected to it.

I think I'll have to change my screen name.

Post by IamGinaW on Sat Jan 28, 2012 7:42 pm

I think the way I did my screen name on here is pretty obvious, but it's funny to see what people think when the whole thing is lowercase letters. Years and years ago I was signing up for a yahoo email or maybe aol and wanted it to be Gina or GinaW. Of course those were taken so I ended up with IamGinaW which is I am Gina W. I've used it as my screen name for years since. It never seems to be taken. Most people on other forums think is has to do with the word "imagine." Oh, and lucky for me, I married a man with the same last initial so all those GinaW things stayed the same!

That wasn't a very good story, so I'll tell you how I got my other business name. My daughter was only a couple months old and I was searching for a URL for a company selling baby hats. Everything with the name baby and hats was taken. I tried lots of different versions. I did want something original and memorable. Well a few weeks before that, my in-laws visited to see the baby. Her name is Danielle. My father-in-law could never get the pronunciation right. Finally, I wrote it phonetically for him like this: DAN-YELL. Anyway, back to searching for a url... I somehow thought of the name yellbaby and that's what it ended up being. I always tried to spell it YellBaby.com but still people would think it was yellow baby or something. It was memorable though!

My screen name comes from my old clown name, Punky! Punky has since retired and I have a new character now, Tilly. Smile But most people still call me Punky, since I'd been punky since the 6th grade, and I changed soon after I graduated high school, lol.

Taradoodles.
In high school I loved art but could draw the 'real' stuff Mz Meadows wanted. I could only manage cartoon type drawings. There were some amazing student artists that could replicate a vase of flowers down to vaporizing water and totally out of my league. I was still considered gifted for the class, even though my style was different. Outlines, bold colors, not much shading, etc. She was talking with another teacher in class and made a huffy remark "Tara dosent draw, Tara doodles!!!" Of course it backfired on her and became my nickname. She accepted the way i drew after fighting it for a year trying to get me to change it.
I ddint think twice about not calling myself that. No funny story, but mine. Its why i think of my art as secondary, its never perfect or realistic. all fantasy and made up- kids art. Or doodling. lol

Everytime I read it I mentally say WOB WAH TAY, and now I know I say wob wah tay first then go back and say who b what e. I spend about 5-6 seconds everytime he he.

Mine was Ainslie the makeup artist because I am, and everyone would say Ainslie. You know, the makeup artist.....

But I am wanting to change my name so it fits in with all things I offer so atm it is just ABD for my initials. I lose sleep every night trying to come up with something....

rthling posted a link to this in another thread - first time seeing it.  Really enjoyed reading everyone's posts.

LittleMonsters, because Little Monsters Face Painting wouldn't fit.  I'm a preschool teacher, work with all kinds of children, so I like the idea that my business name is either "Am I painting little monsters (on their faces)?" or "Am I painting little monsters (the children)?" ^_^

Re: What does it MEAN??

Post by jlirie on Fri Dec 26, 2014 7:38 pm

great thread on the forum names Smile. mine is totally made up, originally for a small business endeavor in jewelry i (attempt) to sell online.

but it was going to be "j liare", pronounced j lee-are-ay, just because i liked the sound of it. then i realized the letters in the middle spelled "liar".  not gonna work, lol.

so i experimented with other ways of pronouncing it and came up with j lirie (j lir-ee). and then realized the pronunciation sounded almost like jewelry, a neat coincidence.

Well, hey ... I guess it's time to explain what my screen name on the Forum means. And Fessy and Ronnie, you two have been the most diligent about counting the number of Js!

Sooo ... the scientific, highly technical, deeply meaningful (and completely spontaneous) reason for the screen name "JJJJJ" is: laziness!

When I had to pick a name, I just didn't FEEL like coming up with something. Sooo, I typed in the first letter of my name five times.

And there you have it.

Love,
JJJJJ I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you

This is fun!  My sceeenname is one I use on several forums.  I first started using it on eBay in 2002 when I was buying and selling collectible perfume bottles, my longest running hobby--since I was 12 years old.

I seem to have misplaced one of my responses to this column. I do not know if the moderators removed it (not at MY request) or it just fell off into cyberspace.

The little piece of information about my fesspenter name is this...
in French
des fess
is "Butt" or "gluteous maximus" or "behind".

Perry Noia the Scaredy Clown pointed out that would make me "ButtPainter".

I laughed my, um, butt off when I read that.

I should have explained that PaintFreak was a derivative of my original eBay screenname FumeFreak, which came from my love of perfumes. Of course everyone assumes it means I smoke pot. Oddly enough, I rarely wear perfumes. I just love the bottles they come in. LOL

amylady is my screen name--really easy cause my name is---Amy

but I only use Amylady for forums or email address for close friends and family

I use Chaplin222 for all other screen names and emails and have since high school.

I LOVE Charlie (Charles) Chaplin! I have always wanted to be a clown, still do--maybe one day!
