First gig under my belt...

I've done a few parties for friends for practice and never really thought I'd ever be a biz. But my husband opened his mouth and told the local restaurant I could totally do it.

So I painted for 2 hrs at the local fish taco restaurant for kids night. And it was awesome! I was paid by the restaurant and made some tips. I chose about 12 designs I was confident in- masks, quick cheek art, butterfly's and the infamous tiger.

I was so wrapped up in the whole thing that I didn't take pictures. And I'm a PHOTOGRAHER! I did have plenty of pics taken of me- even a video of me painting a little girl (probably about 10 yrs old) for her first time ever. I made sure she got extra glitter

It's pretty addictive. I've been bitten. The kids were happy. The parents were happy. The restaurant manager was happy.

Yay, good on you! And how nice that your husband is so sweet & supportive of your FPing!

I know my husband support me but the idea that he would get free wahoos for dinner didn't hurt either.

thanks. it was fun. i would have to say having a list of what I could do (partly because I needed relatively quick designs and partly because I wanted to be confident in what I painted) was one of the best things I did to prep. totally recommend it!

Thanks. I've been invited back next week. We'll see where it goes from there. The ice cream shop across the sidewalk and the wahoos manager were chatting yesterday and want to figure out a joint gig for the spring/summer. There is also a cupcake bakery in town that has asked me if I would wan to do any parties. Right now they have princess visits as as add-on but would like to offer more than just that.
