Long time no see

Post by Gr8ful on Sat Jan 28, 2012 11:57 pm

Hi everyone. I have been away for far too long and I have missed you! I got fairly busy with my regular winter job and then my Mom was given an overdose of Warfarin in the home she was in (Oct) and ended up in hospital. She never came out and passed away Nov 9th. She passed away for a grab bag of reasons but since then it has been a tough time trying to find our way without her wit and endless love.

I have had a few gigs here and there and am booked for a winter festival next weekend but have not had a lot going on otherwise. I have volunteered to paint the Grade 1 classes again for Valentines this year and have recruited another bus driver and a parent to assist so I will be teaching them simple techniques. I am looking forward to a bit of painting joy, that's for sure. I hope you are all well and I am trying to find a way to attend the FABAIC in Vegas for March. I sure hope I can get to go!

with respect and (((hugs)))
Judy

Judy; I am so sorry about your mother... I hope you find comfort in every memory of her in your heart, for that is where she lives now.

So sorry to hear that! Medication dosage errors unfortunately are the single biggest problem in hospitals nowadays, and they shouldn't exist at all. She lives on in your memories, just remember the good times, and everything will be alright.

Thank you everyone. She had other health issues that were difficult but the OD and then at some point after getting a transfusion for that she contracted C-diff which was the final straw.
I didn't get much painting in Oct thru Jan. I only have 2 events in Feb but thats not necessarily a bad thing. If I can get some pics I will post them ok?

After the lose of a parent you need to go at the pace you need to go. Don't let others tell you whats right or wrong in grief. When my Dad died everyone was telling me what I needed to do and how I needed to be which added up to not getting to grieve and let me tell you it's a lot harder to put it off. I feel for you and praying for you.

Awww Judy. Big hugs to you, lady. My heartfelt condolences go out to you. I wish I had some advice or words of wisdom to offer, but I deal with death TERRIBLY. I am not one of those strong ones who can "keep calm and carry on". When my grandmother died, I freaked out in the middle of her wake because they put her lipstick on too dark, and she would never wear it like that. I hope your heart heals soon, and my prayers go out to you and your family.
Good luck at your two February events. Don't feel like you have to post pics up for us if you are busy with your mourning process. You do what YOU need to do.
*hug*
