Show me your cheek butterflies!

Post by OneFirefly on Mon Jan 30, 2012 3:13 am

I am having so much trouble with them! I'm not too bad at doing 'flitting' butterflies (the side view) but my cheek butterflies where you can see both wings are terrible. Help me out!

yeah your avatar looks fine... perhaps practice some and then show pictures of what you are talking about... we can then critique your work.

LMAO! I prefer Ice over Fire though! Can't wait for the last movie!
*sighs* Edward! Razz

Okay back on the topic. I haven't done any cheek art butterflies, but I will now. I imagine I'd just do a couple of one stroke flower type petals and the usual outlining and detailing. I will post what I come up with tomorrow. flower

Just look at real butterflies for reference. A quick google search will provide ample resources. Look at the shape of the wings, try to replicate. When you're happy with your "real-looking" butterfly... mess around with it, stylize it, make it your own. Practice practice practice!
