First belly!

Post by Kat's FacesForFun on Mon Jan 30, 2012 12:45 pm

My best friend is currently pregnant, and I decided she would be a great guinea pig for me to practice some belly painting on. Win win! I kept asking her what she wanted and she always said, "just do whatever you want". So... when I got to her house I was prepared to paint a butterfly/flower mural. She says, "I really like the tropical designs that I saw looking online. Sigh. Ok then, I'll wing it! TOTALLY not an original design, but it's one she liked, so I simplified it (a lot). Hoping to do a couple more before her little boy arrives.

Sweet!!! That is very clever of you to have the stork silhouette flying across the tropical scene. I'm lovin' it! Very Happy

Yeah... NOT clever of me. Totally unoriginal. Not a copy, but the concept is completely "borrowed". My husband says my stork looks more like a turkey. lol.

I love it. You did a great job on the background. I really like how it is not just sponge blended.
Who cares if the concept is borrowed (there is only so much you can do different with a tropical sunset anyway), this is your interpretation of it. Be proud of it.

Very nice, hope she is a willing guinea pig again, be sure to post more!

As far as the stork... I didn't get "Turkey" at all but we can always count on our hubby's to add in their colorful, "helpful" tips. LOL, I did a pretty moonlight belly, at least I thought it was pretty. My husband said ,"I don't think I like that one, it's too dark." I don't remember asking his oppinion that day!! LOL
