lime juice instead of lemon?

sorry im typing one handed as my keft hand is still wet lol.
can u substitue lemon for lime? I dont think the dye has released Sad booo

When you mix the henna powder with lemon juice it helps to release the dye from the henna so that you it stains...

Well, I'd used lime juice instead.

It worked Smile I figured it would... it's just the acid factor that causes the chemical reaction so thought it would but last night I wasn't sure if it was going to work. I've woken up though with a very stained hand!

many people have experimented with dried limes then boiled in tea. Alot of work for the same results. lemon juice is best but lime will also work. Technically orange works as well, but the thickness of the juice and the sugars make it not quite acidic enough. Glad you liked the results!
