My Dragon Tattoo Tutorial

Post by Psalmbook on Mon Feb 06, 2012 6:55 am

This was meant to be an entry in last months contest since it's my most requested design. I gave up because it was so hard to send it through email. So, since I did learn how to submit to youtube I'm sharing it hear. I'd love to hear your comments (good & bad) to best help me make a great product for ya'll. I plan to make more videos!

Enjoy!

I really enjoyed your video - it was awesome. Loved that you showed when you loaded the brush with the one-stroke, thought you spoke really well, (great explaining as you went along), and the design was great! Thank you. sunny

I followed along painting on my arm and I really liked it! I think this might be my first almost decent looking dragon. I like that this one is not so perfectly specific-there's a lot of wriggle room and it still looked good. The presentation of the video is good. Well timed, not too much yakking but enough to explain well and the images are good.

Thank you for the input! I really only want to do videos that are good. I hate when things look distraction in the background, weird noises, etc:-) It's hard to talk & paint & I know I said Facebook instead of Youtube one time... duh:-)

Loved this tutorial! I like my dragons - except for the head. LOVED how you did yours, and will try to adapt your technique. I had an event yesterday and did two dragons, and hated each one. They just did not look right!

When you don't want to do a design - I hate doing monkeys... do you just say I don't do those? Or how do you refuse to do something you know you don't do welll?

Thanks so much for the video tutorial. Please send more!

Re: My Dragon Tattoo Tutorial

Love 'em! I'm hoping to eventually do more videos. I didn't realize how much work a video is & need to block off time when my home is quiet & I have no distractions... Wait, that time slot doesn't exist Very Happy

If someone wants me to paint something I hate doing I sometimes say I can't do it or sometimes I wing it. It just depends the event, time I have, etc. On Easter I had a request for the devil... "Uh, No." was my answer. BTW, I hated monkey's for years & finally found a cute one that I do (sorry no pics yet). It looks very sweet & kindof Curious George like.

Real Sable. I usually use the American Painter brushes from Michael's or Mark Reid's brushes from the forum shop.

I did your dragon today on my arm when I was doodling.

My first dragon. The body needed work, but I was happy with the face. Thanks for the inspiration/direction!
