Has anyone had any success with any working from home jobs/businesses?
Hi guys
I am wanting to bring in some extra income and I would love to work from home. I have looked into so many work from home schemes and many of them are just scams..I am wondering if anyone on here has come across a real success story from working online.
I know with Amazon you can make your own store and sell their products..which seems the most legit thing I have found without costing an arm and a leg to set up....Any Stories from you guys?

I make and sell hair accessories. I've only been selling them for a month or so, but so far so good. I have no idea how it will work out in the long run, though.
I know a lot of people who do have success selling crafty stuff on sites like etsy, but I am not sure about Amazon. A few months ago, I read on an online forum that if someone has success selling a certain product on Amazon, Amazon itself will start selling the product at a lower price. Not sure how true it is, but you might want to keep that in mind.
Good luck!

Thanks pjhamel
Good on you making your own stuff..I wish you all the best with that. I met a guy at the local business and leisure show who is a fishing guy..sells rods, flies etc..Anyhow a couple of ladies said that some of the flies would make great hair accessories and earings..what do you know. He gave it a crack and he is doing really well at it..So funny seeing this burly man making ladies fancy stuff... Love those sorts of stories.
About Amazon, that would seem a silly thing to do...I think at the moment it is only $2 to start doing it, so not alot to lose...I might have a look at etsy also now..so thankyou.

One thing you might consider, if you aren't that crafty of a person, is that people also sell craft supplies on etsy. I know one lady who buys vintage bed sheets at thrift stores, garage sells, etc.. She cuts them into fat quarters and sells them on there. Others buy supplies like feathers or jewelry making products wholesale from Asia and sell them. Some of the bigger stores make about $5,000 a week.
Also, something you might consider doing, a lot of businesses will let their bookkeepers or bill management people work from home. You might want to try looking on craigslist or some other job search website to see if anybody in your area is hiring, then contact them to see if they would hire you but let you work from home.

Only face painting here.... I tried doing one of those party companies where you go to ladies homes & sell stuff... not for me. I was an eBay seller for a while & did the yard sale circuit each week & then sold what I found on eBay. It worked well till gas prices soared. My biggest success has been face & body art.
Re: Has anyone had any success with any working from home jobs/businesses?
I am finishing up a medical transcription course where I am taking the online course from home and will work from home.
It isn't cheap to get started, but allows flexibility.
I love Etsy though, it is my second favorite place to lose time online (FPF being the top
). I have bought lots of different things from there with 100% success. It has such a wide variety of unique things.
Good luck in your search.

Alpine Access and Arrise are two of the largest Home Shoring companies in the country and I know people who work for both. Both have VERy strict requirments, VERy lenghty application processes and long training periods, but the people who like it , like it.
Arrise, you are an independant contractor, and do phone support from your home, hours are flexible.
Alpine Access, you are an actual employee with potential for benefits, but they tend to require you to do 8 hour blocks of time.
Both are the same as working in a phone room, customer support, so if that thought makes you wretch, not a good choice.

I have an etsy shop I love and it works well. I sell vintage tea stands that I make and assemble. It requires a lot more time then people think and is really a job. I also do photography, face/body art and my etsy shop all from home. Somehow it all balances but it is hard sometimes. Good luck!

I tried selling Avon and it didn't go over well at all...I found I was losing more money than I was making!
Re: Has anyone had any success with any working from home jobs/businesses?
I tried selling Usborne books at one point. Technically I'm still a consultant. It wasn't for me. I don't like to push people to buy things. Face paint has been the best for me. Some people have great success selling used books, especially text books, but you really have to know what you're looking for or you'll end up with piles of books that will never sell.
Re: Has anyone had any success with any working from home jobs/businesses?
Lots of people around my area sell Scentsy and make pretty good money at it, I've been thinking about doing it too, but my market is REALLY saturated since the freakin' factory is down the street from me. I've done ChaCha, but that's literally nickels and dimes...and it takes some dedication to make a buck, but when you need a gallon of milk or gas it's in your hands. If anyone is interested in ChaCha use me as a referral pretty please
boisefacepainting@gmail.com is the email address I use for that too.
