Re: Sponges from Amazon.com
We are showing our age, ladies!!! The young 'uns ain't gonna know what the heck we're talking about.... (Am I the only one who had a thing for Captain Kirk?)
And the trouble with tribbles is they need a WARM bath, not cold. They do not grow in cold water.

Re: Sponges from Amazon.com
im glad they will work for you...you will never have to buy another sponge...
Re: Sponges from Amazon.com
Well I don't know if I qualify as young but I know all about tribbles and I'm glad you now have a lifetime supply of sponges.
Re: Sponges from Amazon.com
You guys are talking about Star Wars, right???
J/k. I love Star Trek. Used to watch it every night before bed when I was a little girl.
As far as Kirk goes, Miss Ronnie, I never had a thing for any of the older Captain Kirks, but the young Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek movie is pretty easy on the eyes.

While I like Kirk he was a slut. Every attractive alien he met he snogged.

Spock and Sulu were great, but I personally felt Chekov was the best looking. But as far as characters go, McCoy was my all-time favorite!

Miss Ronnie wrote:So, I am happy to report that I have just given a warm sponge bath to 100 little sponges and they are perfect now!!!! YAY!!!!! They are exactly like the sponges I have picked up at Hobby Lobby which, if I recall correctly, sold 3 for $3.99 or something like that.

That's good enough for me. Off to order. Thanks, Miss Ronnie!

LOL @ Shannon but you are right about Kirk. It's a wonder he didn't catch an alien STD!

I think he did... that's why he wears a rug!
I bought my brother the ENTIRE STOS on VHS for Christmas one year... we watched EVERY episode, back to back, in order of original airing non-stop from Christmas Day to New Years Day... OMG... if you really needed to reinforce Kirk as a slut, watching them in order so close together...!!!

And year three was a joke as far as scripts went!

Re: Sponges from Amazon.com
Mine will be here today! They can't possibly be worse than carwash sponges.
Re: Sponges from Amazon.com
I really believe that any any brush or sponge (ok save few) will work with any face paint makeup. And believe some make better choices in working together.
The thing to know and take note with in working with potters type sponges is they are made to mimic more expensive silk sponges - they are made to hold water. Potters need water to work the clay. Potters sponges are soft, without much spring, that's why I think potters sponges in the long haul are not a painters best option.
As long as you learn the feel of the sponges to have the right moisture for your paint, climate / environment and your technique you'll be painting faces.

Mine are here. They are exactly the same as the ones I paid a dollar a pop for. Stoked! Thanks, Ronnie, for this little gem!
Re: Sponges from Amazon.com

You could write suspens stories !
I was holding my breath reading the thread.
And all is well that ends well

Just a naive question : why do you need so many sponges ? I guess you use one per person, but I imagine you re-use them for the next gig, don't you ?
Re: Sponges from Amazon.com
One per person yes, but for huge events like festivals and carnivals, you can EASILY use 100 sponges in a day. Easily.
Re: Sponges from Amazon.com
OUT OF STOCK! LOL! They don't know what hit them. They'll probably be back at 50% more.

Re: Sponges from Amazon.com
You use one sponge per face? So, a new sponge for each person? Wow. I usually just use one sponge per color, and I don't sponge around the nose or mouth. What are other people's thoughts on keeping things clean? Man, good thing I just ordered some new sponges!
