Miss Heidi
I've read on this forum that snaz cannot be repotted... Something about it eating plastic. I think all other brands are a go

I have Snaz in my trays and I have had no issues at all. They have been in the trays for 7 months now (I think that is right). I don't know how quickly snaz eats through plastic in general - but, these are doing just fine...

I have the flocked trays, if that makes any difference.

I ordered mine from Nile.... I don't use flocked ones, though. Snaz is working fine in them.

Thanks Miss Ronnie! Did you have a hard time repotting the snaz? It seems like it would be crumbly...

Actually, I use jewelry display cases that you can find at Fetpak. I do have one of those black cases though and last year I outfitted it with a metal bottom so that I could have a separate case for my splits. I'll take a picture of my paint setup tonight since it's so different now. I suppose I could take a picture of my working setup since I have to prepare for gigs this weekend and I've managed to toss my stuff all over my craft room. I need a picture for my website anyway...

Snaz will eventually degrade those crystal clear bead containers (i can't remember the name of the plastic, but just remember if it's crystal clear keep your Snaz away from it)...it should be fine in the jewelry displays.

As for repotting, I remember that when I used Snaz I would put a few drops of water in the crumbly ones and nuke it for 5 seconds at a time to make it easier to work with. For the really soft colors, I'd pop it in the freezer to firm up before cutting. I'm in the process of selling off all of the paint I no longer use and I'm wondering if I should repot the snaz in one of these trays just to make it more appealing ... hmmm...

My snaz crascked the hard acrylic plastic cases that were bead storage. they are doing fine in the softer plastic containers. Happy re-potting
