HELP for CRAZY lines

Thu Jul 02, 2009 8:47 pm by faceme

So Canada Day was a great success! Yahoooooo!

I have a question though guys, what the heck do you do for a HUGE line up? I closed my line down and hour and fifteen before I was supposed to be finished. I had my husband & sister inlaw become the end of the line bullies. It became a problem because I was the only painter "hired".

The event offered s...

Don't press so hard!

Thu May 21, 2009 3:04 am by Metina

So I wanted to share something that I just realized. When doing lines, there is no need to press the color into the skin. Use the lightest touch and you will be surprised how white the white is and how dark the black is. I have such a heavy hand and even with the Diamond and Wolfe my white mixed. Once I just lightly did the lines the blacks and whites have more punch and I use a couple of blac...

Had chance to try out some eye stencils from Showoff Body Art

Tue Jun 30, 2009 3:33 am by KathyO

I did a festival this weekend in Lexington and I had a chance to try the eye stencils that Donna Nowak has. I the paint I used was great but I needed to use a larger needle airbrush. There are all airbrushed on. Some of the faces I applied powder for the base and aibrushed the designs using the eye stencils. This was my first time using them and I think they turned out really well.

Snazaroo Paint Locally

Thu Jul 02, 2009 4:43 am by facefulloffun

Does anyone know of a place in the greater Sacramento, California area where I can buy Snazaroo paint and supplies? My husband thought he ordered some extra blue and some sponges on Monday, but apparently his order didn't go through. We can get by for the upcoming event on Friday with what we have but it would be nice to have an extra 18 ml blue or two and some extra sponges since its an Indepen...

First Gig! And question about second one...

Thu Jun 25, 2009 1:05 pm by zanypaint

So my first real gig was at a festival with another painter. It's a farmers market. It is quite possibly the best training ground for a new painter like me. Lines never got more than 4 waiting. I have to say that when I look up and see people waiting I nearly have a heart attack and have to go to my happy place to keep from rushing through an awful painting.

I can't stress eno...

Hello every one - well Mrs Miggins here, and still painting, my goodness the information you all offer is wonderful, may I personally thank you all. I have even had the great pleasure to take classes with Bibi Freeman at London Facepainting and have even done a couple of voluntary jams. Fab world you all inhabit - mind you a mother could still cook the Sunday roast in the time it takes me to do a ...

How many FP here have any kind of art background? What brought them into Face Painting?

Tue Jan 27, 2009 3:20 pm by Winger1200

I am an art instructor who happened, quite by accident, to be litterally sucked into FP by the delighted smiles on the new faces I created to aid another FP in need of help. Im just grateful that my training helps me break down designs for simplicity and speed which I am used to teaching in my other classes (unrelated, yet can be carried into facepainting, like the One Stroke technique).

Fri Jun 19, 2009 9:22 pm by Linda Adams

Ok.....help me out gang!

I have 2 (hopefully 3) gigs on the 4th. the last one, the biggest, is at a country club.
Do any of you have some "wow-that's-an-awesome-face" ideas for the 4th?

I usually do the red, white & blue butterfly and my regular designs in red, white & blue, but wanted to know if you may have that one design you may have for t...

Canada Day Ideas

Sat Jun 27, 2009 9:45 am by Kristal

Hi Ladies! I've been lurking lately, but will hopefully be able to post more.

For you Canadian painters, what kinds of designs are you offering for Canada Day? I'll put up some general flag/maple leaf designs, but what kind do you like to do? Does anyone ever ask to be a beaver, would you think!?
