Teaming up with another painter

Tue Aug 08, 2017 2:39 pm by SarahLee

I have been painting for a few years now, but always solo. One event I do is VERY large, and I am the only face painter given a spot at this event. I think I really need to consider having a second painter. How do you go about that? What about designs and pricing? Any help on the subject would be much appreciated!

Traveling face painting apprentice

Wed Aug 02, 2017 1:06 pm by Skehauharris@gmail.com

I'm graduating with my bachelors in the spring. It would be an absolute dream to travel around the country as a face painting apprentice working at Renaissance faires and other festivals. I've face painted for Seaworld for two summers and currently face paint for a party company in Phoenix, but there is always more to learn. I would love to here back from anyone interested!!

Renaissance faire

Fri Feb 20, 2015 10:45 pm by rthling

I have an opportunity to do a ren faire this year, but they have rules for everything, from the booth, to the costumes, to the way we speak.
It sounds like tons of fun, but I have no idea what to do with my booth, or what to wear.
I can't have any modern conveniences in sight.
Have any of you done a renaissance faire, and what did you do?
Pics would be great, if you have

Disinfecting face paints?

Fri Nov 02, 2012 9:34 am by fezinafelina

My day job is counseling mothers of infants about breastfeeding. I go to homes, the hospital and the health department to help with everything from latch, to nipple damage to pumping and this involves being in contact with bodily fluids so infectious disease is something I think about all the time and this concern has carried over into my face painting business.
I have developed a little routine …

PLEASE HELP...Cannot figure out how to use stencils

Fri Jul 14, 2017 1:36 pm by Snazzy12

I am really frustrated and hoping that someone can help me. I just got a lot of stencils and I cannot use them. Everytime I try to the stencils the water to paint ratio is wrong. I use a 4 inch spritz bottle and mostly global paints, a few wolfe ones. I spritz the sponge 1 -3 times and either the paint won't come onto the sponge enough or it gets too watery and runs underneath the …

Resources/Tips for Customer Interaction ❓

Wed Jul 19, 2017 1:48 pm by Meadowlark

Okay, so I've looked around and I'm not finding too many tips on customer service/interaction during the process of being painted. There's a LOT of helpful info on health and hygiene and line management, but not as much on how to ensure your customers are comfortable and happy. Perhaps I've been using the wrong search terms, or perhaps it just comes naturally to most, but I thought I'd ask if any …
